I don't think I'll fear death in the end unless it's a slow and agonizing process.
I see it as a transition, and a shedding of my pain riddled human shell.
I'm not saying I won't regret leaving behind loved one's or my favorite earthly experiences, but I look foward to "seeing beyond the veil".
My biggest worry is losing a loved one, especially one who may be afraid of death.
Some people believe the heaven or hell myth and suffer guilt because they haven't lived truly righteous lives. Some believe the death of our human shell is the end. Or maybe they convince themselves of that to avoid the heaven/hell judgment problem.
I think our consciousness, or spirit, or soul continues its journey. In what fashion does our energy exist after its release from our mortal cage? Do we just join the Universal Consciousness? Were we already that? Will we reincarnate back to this world, or another?
That pretty much covers it. Dying is as natural as being born, but what is also natural is the innate desire to survive. Thereʻs nothing wrong with wanting to go on living, but it is also natural to age and for the body to degrade. Life is a package deal.
I think it is rational to both dread suffering and pain, and to accept death when it comes.

I'm almost anxious to find out.
